What is Pilates Summer School?
Fitness Pilates and relaxation with a difference. You will enjoy 45 minutes of specially selected Pilates exercises and I will help youunderstand exactly what they are doing for your body.
Completely NEW and innovative, this short course will provide you with the tools you need to allow you to take control of your own health and wellbeing as never before.
Each week we will focus on specific areas of wellness.
There will be lots of useful hints and tips plus a weekly educational handout for you to keep and refer to again and again.
Here’s an outline of what to expect:
Week 1 Mid section weight gain and how to eliminate it. This week we will focus on abdominals and back using a soft Pilates ball plus you’ll receive a handout of nutrition and diet tips to take away.
Week 2 Importance of strength training in the 3rd age. We will look at how our metabolism changes as we age and I’ll give you simple tips on how to improve it. Resistance bands will be used in this class to help improve your strength and muscle tone. There will be a handout of simple exercises you can do at home.
Week 3 Adore your pelvic floor. Stress incontinence, overactive bladder and leaking are common problems that many women feel ashamed to talk about. We will dedicate this week to performing key exercises which strengthen your PF (it’s not what you think!) and you will leave with a comprehensive handout so you can keep up the good work at home.
Week 4 Sleep, stress and how it affects our health and wellbeing. Lots of stretching plus a handout of stress busting tips this week to ensure a peaceful, restful and restorative night’s sleep. Don’t forget to bring your acupressure mat this week if you have one!
At the end of every class during aromatherapy relaxation, we will work on mindset with a bespoke guided meditation to reinforce your learning for that day.
