No More Aching Joints

” It happens to a lot of us, the weight creeps on and before you know it you are fat and forty. I developed gall stones, and type 2 diabetes. My joints ached and I had permanent backache. I kept telling myself I was fat & happy, but I wasn’t. It was only after a ‘telling off’ from my GP’s nurse that I decided to do something about it. I had a dangerously high blood sugar and was forced to deal with it. I tried crash dieting and  lost a stone in 4 weeks but I was virtually starving myself and I knew I could sustain it. My sister recommended Karen’s class in Clayhall where I immediately felt at home. Karen inspired me to lose more weight and there was an added bonus – a weekly aerobics class. I hadn’t done any exercise since school so it was a bit daunting at first but as the weight came off I began to keep up and enjoy them. When Karen started to teach FitSteps, I was over the moon as it’s based on Ballroom and Latin dance moves. It’s is a joy to do, so much fun, not at all  like exercising, and everyone leaves with a smile on their face. I have gone from being the original couch potato, to two FitSteps classes a week, two spin classes, plus the odd aerobic class when I can fit it in! Who would have thought it”.
